Haha she told me. Hope she didn’t bore you all! I was meant to come in and do a workshop with you guys actually but I never had the time in the end. Which sucks. I’m sure she’s a pretty cool art teacher though. Mine was about 3ft tall, 80 years old, and obsessed with trying to make me draw fruit!

Well, you know. I’d never thought of it like that. You’re right. But I couldn’t bring myself to say mum after so many years of mom. It just wouldn’t feel right…

I know! I honestly have no idea. I have tried to work this out so many times. I’ve said mom since I was able to speak, for no real reason.
The best I’ve been able to work out is that because I am so clever, I subconsciously decided at a young age that this is the one instance where the American use of the English language is correct.
The long word is mother after all. Not muther.
Ok, that was a joke. I think its because I watched films like The Goonies so many times when I was a tiny child that the word mom has just stuck in my brain.
