Q:This is hardly a question, I just think you're really rad. Both your work and your attitude. You seem so down-to-earth about everything, it's really inspiring! Is that actually your own experience as well? If so, how do you do it so that others can learn to emulate it? Haha. It just seems the creative world could do with the level-headedness you have.

I know what you mean about the creative world, it can seem so incredibly far up it’s own arse sometimes. But at the same time there are lots and lots of really humble and down to earth creative people out there too.

I think the people you’re talking about just get more press these days for some reason. I’m not sure why being a dick is ‘cooler’ than being nice these days, but there you go.

Anyway, I think being yourself is a good place to start.

If you have any kind of ‘success’ don’t think it means you’re better than anyone else. There is always someone ‘better’ than you.

Be nice to people.

Love and respect your parents.

Be honest.

Eat your greens.

Do things you enjoy.

Go to different countries.

Be interested.

All those kind of things I guess. There’s a good quote from the film Harvey…

Years ago my mother used to say to me, she’d say, “In this world, Elwood, you must be,” — she always called me Elwood — “In this world, you must be oh so smart, or oh so pleasant.” Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me.

I recommend pleasant too.

And thanks, that was a really nice message.
